The view of the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah from its gardens.
Last weekend I went to Ras Al Khaimah for a project with the local tourism office brought me to the region to promote the Destination Dawn event, a beach music festival aiming to be the longest party in the UAE with artists performing from 5 PM until 5 AM. During this period I had the chance to stay at one of the best hotels in the region, the Waldorf Astoria, a hotel inspired by the palatial architecture in th region and a service fit for royalty as well.

This was exactly what I needed to cope with the stress and busy life in Dubai, a little getaway for a weekend with not much more than going to the beach, sleep, exercise and relax. My room was very spacious with a living area, walk-in closet, a huge bathroom and a large balcony with an amazing view overlooking the hotel's golf course.

The cabanas next to the beach at the hotel.
After setting up in the bedroom, organising my clothes and reading the briefing for the event it was time to head to the gym. Unfortunately had no time to try the spa (right next door) but can tell you the gym was very well equipped. Followed a nice Caesar Salad by the beach and some time by the pool until it was time to party. Fast forward to the following day and before heading back to Dubai it was time for well "sustained" breakfast from the hotel's large selection of options. Overall a very relaxed weekend to recharge energies, exactly what I needed.
