Entrance of Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade

During my last trip to Lisbon, I had the chance to stay at the Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade. A lovely hotel right in the middle of one of the most beautiful and prestigious locations in the city: Avenida da Liberdade.

The name translates to Liberty Avenue and is a central location within the old town. Not only this but it is also a destination for the luxury shoppers with all the designer brands you can think of lining up the street, from Vuitton to Versace and Bulgari to Cartier - You can say this is Lisbon's version of Avenue Montaigne.

Even though I lived in the city for a few years, I have to confess that was not very familiar with the hotel prior to this and now I see what a mistake that was ...

My experience started with the hotel's Mercedes S-Class picking me up with a Champagne bottle already waiting for me (even though it was only 3 o'clock). The staff was extremely friendly once I got to the hotel and I even had the chance to speak with Carolina Salgueiro from the e-Commerce division who was kind enough to give me a tour around the hotel and discuss a bit about the business, hotel's origin and their vision for the future.

Sofitel Avenida Prestige Suite

After this I reached my Suite, the Prestige Suite, a spacious 44 sqm room with an incredible balcony with a view over Avenida da Liberdade. This balcony brings me to the next point: The Food. Particularly the breakfast, every day there was something different and delicious entering my room. The quality of the food was impeccable, and even though December isn't a particularly warm month to have breakfast outside (and here's where the balcony comes in the picture) I had to even though I confess the fur coat you can't see on the pictures helped to make it a bit warmer.

Besides breakfast, the food at the hotel's restaurant, called ADLib, was also delicious and I wonder why I never stopped there before since I have walked in front of it thousands of times. Just a tip: if you visit the restaurant, leave some space for dessert. You will understand why once the dessert cart is coming your way...

Overall it was an incredible experience and can't wait to go back! I would like to thank everyone involved, particularly to Fátima Rana and Carolina Salgueiro from Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade and Francisco Ferreira from Vintage Ride who provided me with a 1973 Alfa Romeo Spider during my stay (But more on that later).
